The HMMWV was proposed by the Military in 1979 as a way to replace all of the lighter duty vehicles previously present in the United States Military. After nearly 40 years in service, the United States government realized that the trusty Jeep could simply not withstand the abuse needed for a versatile combat vehicle. This “Humvee was originally used by the United States Marine Corps, and was later owned by a movie production company. The vehicle was restored in 2010 and then sold to the public, where the current owner eventually came to purchase the vehicle. This vehicle maintains many aspects of the military Humvee, including the CARC green paint and green captains seats. This Humvee has also had locking doors and a keyed ignition added, which are not standard with military Humvees. The mock machine gun and turret on top of the Humvee would be a great place to ride in parades! The 6.5L naturally aspirated diesel V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission supply enough torque to take this beast anywhere your heart desires. Other options for this vehicle include power brakes, manual sunroof, and seatbelts.
