VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1985 Chevrolet El Camino for sale in West Deptford, New Jersey

Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia is presenting a Pro Street 1985 Chevrolet El Camino for sale. The El Camino was introduced in the 1950s. It has had a cult following ever since its initial release. With a truck like bed and car like cab it is easy to see why people love them. This 85 ELCamino will give you the ability to haul a little more than just the stuff in the bed. An original 305 car from the factory that engine was replaced with a much healthier 350. Starting off with a 4 bolt main this motor was built from the bottom up. The Chevrolet X rods are unbelievably strong and with the engine balanced you can feel confident when the tach hits the redline. The flat top pistons keep the engine at a very streetable 10.2 to 1 compression allowing you to pull right up to the pump with no need for expensive race fuel. The 882 heads have been polished with the addition of hardened push rods and roller rockers durability was not forgotten about on this build. The Lunatti flat tappet cam gives the ELCO a ton of high-end usable power not to mention a great lope while at idle. The 750 CFM Holly Street Avenger carb feeds this high-performance street beast the right amount of fuel. Spark is taken care of through the industry favorite MSD ignition system. A set of hooker headers connected to a couple of Flowmasters is guaranteed to be music to any gearheads ears. Handling all that power is a built TH350 with a Dacco 3k stall convertor with a trans cooler keeping everything at just the right temp. The rear end is composed of a Ford 9inch with Moser engineering bolt in housing with 31 splined axles and a limited slip differential allowing for the 3.50 gear set to be effortlessly swapped out. With the suspension gone through this Chevy rides as good as it looks. The inside has been treated to a set of bucket seats with a Hurst bracket shifter. The huge AutoMeter Tach allows for easy reading of the RPMs with a backup shift light just in case your eyes wonder. If you have been wanting a Hotrod but need a truck yet the idea of a street strip vehicle is intriguing this ELCO is all of those wrapped up in one sleek package. Options on this 1985 Chevrolet El Camino include; AM/FM/Cassette, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Tilt Wheel, Leather Interior, and Aluminum Wheels with Radial Tires.
