Despite having a short production run of just three model years (1949-1951), the EL Series is well remembered for its vintage styling and V8 performance. With plenty of brightwork on this 4-door sedan (all re-chromed), its easy to overlook the quality of the sleek and luxurious Maroon paintjob. In fact, from the white wall Goodyear radial tires to the rounded taillights and all the way back to the golden trim hood ornament this Lincoln EL Series is a total showstopper. Powering this classic is its original 337 CID Flathead V8 engine tied to a 4-speed automatic transmission that produced around 154hp and 275lb ft of torque from the factory. This car spent time in a museum in Nevada before being bought by a private individual around 20 years ago and this combination of careful ownership has resulted in the odometer in this Lincoln reading an epically low 34,000 actual miles. Pop open the driver door or the iconic rear-opening “suicide door and youll be greeted with a brand new Italian leather two-tone Brown interior that shows exceptionally well and is a lovely place to sit. The original gauges are delightful to look at and remain in great condition along with the heat controls and AM Radio. One of my favorite features on this 1951 Lincoln has to be the era-appropriate split windshield. The entire trunk area on this EL Series 4-door sedan was also reupholstered and is looking mighty fine.
