The engine has no pistons, but rather a triangular rotor which rotates around the combustion chamber. The result is a much smaller displacement than the typical piston engine. This RX-7 sports a 1,146cc 12A rotary engine. This engine produced just over 100 horsepower, but was lightweight which allowed the car to have an incredibly balanced 50/50 weight distribution.
