Used 1957 Pontiac Star Chief for sale in Crete, Illinois
More Pictures and Videos Coming Soon!!! For sale in our Chicago showroom is this 1957 Pontiac Starchief. Converted by Superior Ambulance circa 1957, this is a truly unique piece of history. This Pontiac is powered by a healthy V8 and an automatic transmission. Originally, this Pontiac was converted to bring soldiers to their homes who had been flown back to the states after being killed in action. It has driven all over the Midwest until it was retired and put in private hands. There is still a plaque on the dash showing record of its service. Unfortunately, the odometer broke at just over 26,000 miles, but the actual mileage is believed to be around 40,000. All the lights and siren do work exactly as they would have in 57. Being a military vehicle, it was very bizarre to have been a Pontiac, rather than the base Chevy, as the Pontiac was considered a more upscale brand. Options include: Spare Tire & Jack, Hub Caps, Seat Belts, and White Wall Tires. For more information please contact our Chicago showroom at (708) 444-4488 or Chicago@GatewayClassicCars.com.
