VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1963 Ford Thunderbird for sale in Phoenix, Arizona

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is excited to feature this wonderful 1963 Ford Thunderbird two-door hardtop for sale right now in our Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix. Fords iconic offering was now in its eighth year of production and had undergone significant changes from where things started in 1955. This 1963 Thunderbird falls in the era known as the “Bullet Bird featuring beautiful looks that helped buyers envision popular culture at the time which was obsessed with aircraft in the “Jet Age. You can certainly see that evidence in the pointed front nose, recessed headlights, twin round taillights and the sweeping tail fins on this Corinthian White painted Thunderbird. With just two owners and 51,000 miles traveled from new according to the seller, this 1963 T-Bird comes with its original powertrain- a 390 CID V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor that made an impressive 300hp and 427lb ft of torque. You can be sure this Big Bird will move out of the way of itself just fine with those numbers! The “Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission moves this Thunderbird smoothly down the road. The hallmark of early 60s Thunderbirds like this was their stylish interior with bucket seats and a big center console with the “swing away steering wheel as standard. Interior design at Ford wanted to emphasize and delineate the positions of the driver and the passenger, which also meant eliminating the glove box for a more curved look. The beautifully preserved Red vinyl, plenty of chrome and options like an AM radio, heater controls and new-for-63 hydraulic operated wipers are just some of the things to enjoy on this survivor Thunderbird. This car really is as clean as it looks and I for one cant wait for the look on the face of whoever owns this gem next. Could it be you?
