Their cars have a history of doing very well. This 442 has been owned by the current owner since 1996. This numbers matching(engine and transmission) car is one of 2,933 convertibles built in 1970. The owner tells us that he has the build sheet. It is sequence number 21 from the Linden plant making it one of the early 442s built that year. This 442 is equipped with a 455 CI engine and a 400 Turbo hydra-matic transmission. The rear is a 3:23 Posi unit. Thornton muscle cars of Pennsylvania did a frame off nuts and bolt restoration on this car. The paint work on this car is some of the best that I have ever seen. The color is Agean Aq,ua only available for one year as a special order it is both unique and beautiful. The paint on this car is so deep and crystal clear. Like the Caribbean. This 442 also features Power steering and brakes, power top, air conditioning, AM FM stereo and an 8 track player. The interior, which looks like it is brand new, features Strato bucket seats, and a console with “Hurst Dual gate shifter. It also includes a rally pack, sport mirrors and a sport wheel along with inside hood release and tinted glass. A forced induction Ram Air Hood gives the car an aggressive look. Goodyear G 70 raised white letter polyglass tires on Super Stock II wheels complete the package and look fantastic on this Oldsmobile 442. This car has been a first place award winner at the Oldsmobile nationals, and won other awards as well including 2 times Senior Grand National Champion.
