For sale in our Chicago showroom is this beautiful 2003 Mercury Marauder. 2003 saw the return of the Marauder nameplate as a variation of the Mercury Grand Marquis. While the Grand Marquis was powered by the same 4.6l 2v V8 engine used in the Mustang GT, the Marauder saw the 4.6l 4v V8 used in the Mach 1 mustang making a rated 302 horsepower. Backing up the torquey V8 was a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission ready to handle the power with ease. 3.55 gears were standard, making this a quick accelerating car for weighing just shy of 4200 pounds. This Marauder has been in the same family since new. Both of its two owners worked at a Mercury dealership and had the vehicle dealer serviced almost its entire life. To keep with the blacked-out motif set by Mercury, the windows were tinted to complete “the look. An aftermarket amplifier and subwoofer have been installed to give a more full sound than what the OEM sound system would allow, and the OEM subwoofer is known to rattle. To pump power up a smidge and get a bit more engine noise, a K&N intake system was installed. Immediately prior to putting the vehicle for sale, a new set of tires were installed (the glue from the stickers is still on the tires!)
