Until 1968 The “442” was a trim level on the popular Cutlass line and was derived to compete with The “GTO” designation given to Pontiacs Tempest Lemans. In 1968 All that changed. The Oldsmobile 442 was officially a model line and it just grew from there. This 1968 Olds 442 Convertible is definitely a blast from the past. While all 442’s were built with a 400 CI V8 in 1968, this example has had a massive 455 CI V8 shoved under the hood. Mated to a 3-speed automatic, this 442 really gets after it when putting a little weight on the gas pedal. The paint on this car is pretty original with some of the trim pieces in less than stellar condition. The white exterior with black stripes is in driver quality condition. The original black vinyl interior is in good shape and shows little wear.
