Used 1925 Mercer Raceabout Replica for sale in Indianapolis, Indiana
Gateway Classic Cars of Indianapolis is proud to present this 1925 Mercer Raceabout Replica. Mercer was one of the most famous and romantic nameplates to grace the early American automobile scene. It was named after Mercer County, NJ where its Trenton plant was located. Cars like the Mercer and Stutz were called sports cars. Along with a simple clam shell fenders there was little more than a doghouse covering the engine, two seats, a barrel for a fuel tank, and a couple of spare tires strapped to the back. This Mercer Replica was built in California and is equipped with a 292 CID I6 Chevrolet engine backed up with a TH 350 automatic transmission. The all steel body is finished in a bright blue and is quite a contrast to the red vinyl interior. The wire wheels wrapped in wide white wall tires finish off the classic 20s look. Options on a car from the 1920s are limited but this Mercer has: vinyl interior with seat belts, wire wheels, wide white walls, VDO gauges, electric fan, and the classic Ooga Horn.
