Known as the “peoples car, the VW Beetle was one of the longest-running models of vehicle with almost no major changes over its multi-decade run (and even longer in other countries!). With its small air-cooled flat 4 cylinder engine bolted to a manual transaxle under the rear hatch, this economy car had surprisingly sporty feel to it, and attracted a lot of buyers because of it. Since its introduction, the Beetle has created a huge cult following, including finding itself in quite a few movies! This Beetle, having only traveled 37,445 actual miles, is practically still in the wrapper! These air-cooled engines are notorious for traveling long distances and, when properly maintained, easily travel 100,000+ miles without breaking a sweat. Times does, however take a toll on some components, regardless of use, and this Beetle has been no exception. To counteract that, however, all 5 tires have been replaced (including the spare), the master cylinder was replaced, as well as new fluid in the braking system, new shocks were installed on all 4 corners to keep handling sharp, and the ignition was upgraded to electronic ignition for a stronger spark, and more reliable starts in colder weather. With an easily recognizable shape, a bulletproof engine, and a cult following, this Beetle is set up for success.
