VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1955 Chevrolet 210 Delray Club Coupe for sale in Houston, Texas

Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is proud to present this Pro Touring style 1955 Chevrolet 210. This first-year Tri-Five 210 Delray Club Coupe was the result of one mans dream to build his dream 55. Starting with what he said was a really, really good car - with all of the sheet metal intact, he took everything apart. Over the next 5 years, every piece was taken down to bare metal, and brought back to better than new condition as it was refinished. The bright red Dupont ChromaOne paint glistens from any angle you view it, and the quality and attention to detail in the paint and finish-work is evident, including the subtle detail in the bumpers and the billet grille. It just screams labor of love. This beast is not just a beauty, though - it packs a mighty wallop, too. Under the hood lurks a Weber Racing-built 502 (516 CID after prep) and a built 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission (controlled by a B&M ratchet shifter), and that delivers all of that thrust out back to a custom-built Ford 9 rear with 31-spline Currie axles, limited slip differential, and 4.11:1 gears. This thing will launch hard and cruise fast. Even though it was fresh out of the box, Weber Racing completely disassembled it, race-prepped the block, align-honed it, decked the block, installed 11.2:1 Wiseco pistons, Eagle rods, race-prepped the heads (including competition valve job, port and polish, CompCams springs/retainers, and CompCams 1.8 roller rocker arms), installed a CompCams roller cam, roller lifters, performed a competition balancing, and provided blueprint specs. It was topped by a QuickFuel 950-Q 950 CFM drag race-prepped carb and Edelbrock aluminum high-rise intake, and outfitted with a set of custom Sanderson BB Chevy shorty headers (to clear the oil pan and steering gearbox), which get the spent fossils out into a custom 3 dual exhaust system with FlowMaster mufflers and turndowns. Weber Racing provided engine dyno figures, which are impressive indeed, especially for a normally aspirated 502-turned-516 CID V8. Topping out at 653 HP/650 Lb/Ft of torque at 6100 RPM, this is one nasty setup. There is a custom fuel cell in the trunk, and the fuel delivery system is outfitted with true AN-Fitting-equipped braided steel lines from the fuel cell to the carb and back. An Accel HEI distributor and 8MM plug wires get the spark fired off with precision. To help keep this big mill cool, theres a massive aluminum radiator with twin electric fans, which work so well, you wont panic if you get tied up in stop and go traffic on your next run with the Power Tour gang. The trans also has a big auxiliary cooler up front, as well, further enhancing the reliability potential of the powertrain. Since youll definitely want to run in Power Tour and Cruisin the Coast events, youll appreciate the enhanced ride, handling, and stopping capabilities that this custom 55 is equipped with. Up front, youll find a complete Camaro front clip and independent suspension setup, with new spindles, front disc brakes, ball joints, tubular A-arms, coil-over shocks, and power rack and pinion steering, along with 2 dropped spindles (also Camaro). Out back is a Heim-jointed track bar setup, big drum brakes, gas shocks, and BellTech 2 drop suspension. Altogether, the suspension setup gives this car its I mean business stance, and it really improves the drivability of this Tri-Five. The car rides on Hoosier ProStreet radials at all 4 corners, which are wrapped around a set of Weld Racing lightweight aluminum wheels. The fronts are 26x7.50R15LT size, and the rears are 29x12.50R15LT size, which is plenty of meat to hook up hard, but not too much that you cant melt them through 3rd gear. Inside, and hidden from view is a new Painless wiring harness, and a remote key fob-operated door locking system (WARNING: dont get out and close the doors with the engine running - they lock for safety, so unless you left the window open before you shut the door, youll be calling a locksmith). Back to the good stuff, and the plainly evident - theres a complete i-Didit tilt steering column, all new synthetic leather door panels, seating surfaces, carpet, and headliner. Youll note that the fit and finish is very good - no sloppy work inside, either! A set of AutoMeter ProComp gauges (oil, water, volts, and tach) keep the driver informed, and theres even a nice sound system - the Alpine AM/FM/CD/MP3 head unit also supports satellite radio. However, you may never want to stop listening to the music that the 516 under the hood is making, especially on those occasions that the little note in the rearview mirror is talking to you: Objects In Mirror Are Losing. Additional features and options on this 1955 Chevrolet 210 Delray Club Coupe for sale include AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA Satellite radio, Aluminum Wheels, Keyless Entry, Kill Switch, Posi-Traction, Power Brakes, Power Locks (via keyfob only), Power Steering, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, Tilt Wheel, and Vinyl Interior.
