The Imperial will always be defined as Chryslers true luxury brand competing with other luxury giants such as Cadillac and Lincoln. Starting in 1955 the Imperial was manufactured with new or modified body styles every two or three years keeping the car fresh an exciting in the marketplace. All were produced with V-8 engines and automatic transmissions. Built with all the modern technologies of the time, which in turn would made available to other Chrysler Corporation models years later. In all there were six generations of Chrysler Imperials made. They were manufactured from 1955-1975 and again from 1981-1983. By 1974 the Imperial with big V-8 and enormous size were becoming a hard sell due to high gas prices and embargos of the 1970s. In the early 1980s the Imperial nameplate made a comeback but was manufactured as a much smaller version. As luck would have it, all the luxury appointments you would expect on an Imperial were still available. This 1973 Chrysler Imperial Le Baron is painted in an elegant green with white vinyl top. Appointed with white tufted leather seats and all the options one expects. Such as air conditioning, power windows, power locks, power seats, power locks and an AM/FM radio. Power steering and power brakes are also included. Under the hood is a 440 cubic inch Wedgewood V-8 attached to a 3-speed automatic transmission.
