Gateway Classic Cars is fired up in presenting this 1987 Buick Grand National for sale at the Milwaukee Showroom. During the late 80s there were a few iterations of what GM made called the “G-Body including the Cutlass, the Monte Carlo, and the Regal. The Grand National was what you get when you take the Buick Regal, drop a V6 in it and add a turbo, making for one of the greatest sleeper cars made from the factory in car history. This Grand National has been taken above and beyond the call of being an unassuming performance machine by rebuilding the original 3.8 liter V6 to handle the boost coming from the much larger than stock turbo, which is pushing close to 18 psi of pressure through an intercooled setup featuring a larger wastegate and a Godzilla blowoff valve. The hopped-up beast of a powerplant is backed by a 200R4 4-speed automatic transmission with electronic overdrive which has also been beefed up to be able to handle the power this car is putting to the wheels. This combination at engine and trans makes for a street drivable car that can accomplish the ¼ mile in the 10 second range. Walking around the car, anyone will notice the car has some custom work done to its appearance as well with decals in orange and silver going up the side of the glossy black paint making for a beautiful contrast. When you pop the hood, it will be noticed that on the under side of the panel there is a masterfully airbrushed mural protected by an extra gloss coat to continuously shine as nicely as the day it was sprayed. When you get in the Buick you will notice that there has been a roll cage installed which is easily accessible with a quick-release pin but shows as ready to drive over to the track and tear up the strip. The aggressive look of this Buick is added to by featuring a set of aftermarket aluminum 5 spoke wheels wrapped in performance radial tires. For those times where you want to just take the Grand National for a cruise this car is ready with features like air conditioning, an aftermarket stereo deck with CD player, power seats, power windows, and cruise control. And finally, there is a set of removable T-Tops for when you want to feel the wind through your hair on a nice day.
