VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1940 International D2 for sale in Houston, Texas

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this clean steel bodied 1940 International D-2 Pickup. The D series International pickups were produced from 1937 up to 1952 where it was then replaced with the K series. With the curved fenders, and V shaped front in this truck truly stands out in a crowd. Something unique about this truck is that the current owner purchased it from the original owners son prior to the restoration. That simply means hands have not been changed very much on this truck and it still shows well today. Powered by a more modern Chevrolet 350 CID V8 this truck has no issues cruising down the highway. The motor is from a 75 half ton pick-up while the heads are from a 79-83 chevy. Putting out an estimated 300hp this engine was said to have been rebuilt roughly 3,000 miles ago. The engine has been paired up to a TH350 transmission making driving this truck simple. Being nearly 80 years old this truck did have to undergo a bit of a restoration to be road worthy. Some of the fresh additions include: coated headers, AFCO aluminum transmission cooler, AFCO aluminum radiator and overflow tank, new AC compressor, new alternator, front disc brakes, power steering, and an Edelbrock 600 CFM 4-barrel carburetor. The front and rear subframe is from a 68 Lemans with the center frame rails being the original 1940 international. For improved handling compared to factory setup, this truck features a GTO front sway bar, and 69 Chevelle traction bars. To set the truck up more to your personal ride preference, rear air shocks have also been added. Apart from the extensive mechanical work, this truck also looks great visually. With a custom 2-tone PPG paint colored in a beautiful Vanilla Shake/Dark Blue Pearl this truck is something not everyone has. This truck isnt one of your typical “Me To vehicles. Driving this beauty around town, people will know whose truck it is and you would be proud knowing youre the only one with one like it. Some of the nice touches done to the exterior of this truck includes American Racing Wheels, Juliano taillights, the original headlights and park lights, functional crank out windshield, aluminum bed plate, and even a hidden trailer receiver hitch with a trailer light plug. The interior of this truck shows as well as the outside. You get the added comfort of more modern leather bucket seats which are in good condition. If you need a little extra leg room, the tilt column allows you to make some quick adjustments. Once your sitting in the driver seat, wrap your hands around the Lecarra aluminum and leather steering wheel. This truck is only here until its gone so be sure to call us as soon as you can to get this beauty added to your collection.
