This 2 Door Hardtop originally came from California and has a solid steel body, black and yellow Cali plate, and the Cali one-piece bumper that has been re-chromed. The current owner has had it for the last 30 years and completed the restoration. Professionally painted in Roman Red with clear coat, complete interior restores, and the V8/4 speed manual set up makes this car very sought after. The interior is red and made of original type material with all new; sun visors, carpet, headliner, door panels, kick panels, package shelf rear side panels, and armrests. On the exterior many pieces have been replaced like the tail lights, moldings, rocker panel trim, emblems, hood bar, license plate insert, new door handles, rear glass windshield, weather stripping, stainless steel dual exhaust, stainless steel brake and fuel lines, and even the filler tube/ gas tank are new. During the restoration the frame was painted in black epoxy to keep it strong and lasting against the elements. Powering this 62 Impala is a crate 1964 327 V8 that was bored .60 over with new pistons, 65 Corvette 350 Hp Camshaft, and lifters, Aluminum intake from a mid-60s Corvette, Carter AFB Carb, rebuilt radiator, new heater core and control valve, new battery, and the distributor has “points replaced with Electronic Point. This V8 engine block was hot tanked and is mated to a 4 speed Muncie transmission with a factory type shifter and new correct shifter boot/plate. The clutch, pressure plate throw out bearing, U joints, and carrier nearing assembly are all new or redone. The suspension has been upgraded with new tie ends, polyurethane bushing in A frame, and new ball joints. This car is perfect for shows or even a driver as often as you feel like getting attention.
