In 1998 Pontiac and Chevy did something amazing, they started putting LS1 5.7L V8 engines in their Firebirds and Camaros. This one just had the LS1 rebuilt 14,000 miles ago. Labeled the poor mans Corvette, these bad boys unleashed tons of torque and horsepower using the same engine that the Corvettes had back in the day for a fraction of the cost. These cars were very underrated by GM as they really wanted to push people onto the Corvette. Our 98 Trans AM is sporting a Red paint job with Fire Hawk stickers. Only 6 Fire Hawks were made in 1998 and all six are accounted for, this is not a Fire Hawk, just a tribute. None the less these cars are fast and handle better than you might think. Rocking the 4L60 transmission, black leather interior, and most of the options that came in this year. Ram Air hood/air box, CD player and radio, AC, and T Tops. These cars are getting harder and harder to find in good condition. They are a very popular choice for performance builders because of how easy it is to get lots of horsepower out of these LS engines.
