Used 1973 Volkswagen Thing for sale in Houston, Texas
Now for sale in the Houston Showroom is this 1973 Volkswagen Thing. The VW Thing originated in the 1960s when the Europeans decided to build a military car together to compete with the Jeep. While that was ongoing, Germany developed the highly utilitarian and capable Type 181. It was eventually offered to the public and made it to the US in 1973 and 1974. It has been stated that this Thing has been driven on the HWY up to 70 MPH. The carb has been rebuilt, replaced tie rods, balanced the tires, and replaced the gas tank. The engine in the vehicle is a 1600 CC, 4-Speed Manuel, which has 68,063 unknown mileage. The Thing is ready to go hit the road and cruise. Thing is to be said to have had a paint job within the last 5 years. It appears to be original color to this vehicle. This VW also comes with all 4 removable windows. A prior owner installed a new top with reinforcements to provide the top with better stability. This Thing will be sure to protect you from the sun but also allow you to fill the wind through your hair. The rear seats do come down to add more storage space in the back.
