Gateway Classic Cars Houston is pleased to offer this 1963 Ford Thunderbird for sale. 1963 marked the final year of production for the third-gen T-Bird, which started its run in 1961. When the third-gen Thunderbirds came into the market, they introduced a number of new features; but two stand out. The Tilt-a-Way steering wheel and the first floating rear view mirror, the latter of which is now found on all passenger vehicles today. The Tilt-a-Way steering wheel provided the driver more clearance when exiting the vehicle by sliding to the right about 18 inches when the vehicle was put into park. This turquoise survivor has great bones for a restoration to its original glory. This 1963 T-Bird is nice example of a early 1960s sport luxury car, having some very nice, clean lines that from certain angles are very reminiscent of a rockets profile. Under the hood is the original 390 CID V8, which is backed by the original Cruise-O-Matic MX 3-speed automatic transmission, making it a numbers-matching car, which is a rare find in these older vehicles. Climbing inside, you can see the that the two-tone seats are in good condition, and the blue carpet has held up well. The original dash has some cracks going on; but JustDashes could make it look like new for you.
