This 1942 Ford Coupe Super Deluxe is for sale in our Louisville showroom. 1942 Is a special year for Ford as they halted their car and truck production line in preparation for WWII production. There was a short run of cars produced up until February 10th 1942 that were sold to the general public and it would be the last batch until July of 45 for the 46 model year. This 1942 Super Deluxe Coupe is all an unrestored survivor with its 221 CID v8 and 3 speed column shift manual transmission. The Ford Flathead produced a stout 90 hp from the factory and some Edelbrock heads have been added to give some better airflow. This pre war icon rolled into our showroom showing 90,800 miles on the clock. The original electrical system has been switched out for a 12 volt system. While she has already seen some years and could tell many stories, she is sure to be ready for more. The exterior is sporting its original chrome and the black paint is in true survivor status with patina to show its many years of hard work and dependability. The original “Mohair interior is in good shape and brings you back to a simpler time before luxury meant leather everywhere you look. While Fords focus may have shifted to cheaper government and military supply vehicles, they did not slouch their final year before the WWII production take over.
