VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1937 Desoto Sedan for sale in Kenosha, Wisconsin

Gateway Classic Cars is excited to bring little history into our Milwaukee showroom with this 1937 Desoto Touring sedan. Desoto was born as a division of the Chrysler in 1928 to directly compete with such names as Oldsmobile, Buick, Studebaker and Hudson in the mid-priced market. Desoto went on to become a very successful brand for Chrysler which was manufactured from 1928-1961. First model year sales totaled 81,065 units setting a first- year sales record that was not broken until 1960. Remarkably, over two million vehicles were manufactured during Desotos long run. The Desoto logo featured a stylized image of the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto for which the car was named after. De Soto led the first European expedition deep into the territory of what is now the United States. Exploring territories which are now recognized as Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Our 1937 Desoto Touring Sedan is a fine example representing the Series S-3 airstream model, featuring timely Art Deco styling. A vehicle that defines “simple elegance. S-3 styling featured a horizontal grille with a vertical center panel painted to match the body color. Speaking of body color, our 1937 Desoto is sharply painted in a red/white two-tone combination. The gorgeous bullet headlights, suicide doors and color keyed steel wheels make this Desoto a showstopper. Powered from a L-head six- cylinder engine featuring a 228.1 cubic inch displacement offering 93 H.P. The transmission is a synchromesh three-speed manual. Hydraulic brakes and steel wheels were standard equipment on this 1937 Desoto Touring Coupe. The time is now to own a piece of Desoto history. This 1937 Desoto Touring Sedan is available at our Milwaukee Showroom at Gateway Classic Cars and can be seen at www.GatewayClassicCars.com which includes 100+ HD photos and HD video. To see the car in person, it can be seen at our Milwaukee Showroom located at 9949 58th Place Suite 400, Kenosha WI 53144.
