VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air for sale in Houston, Texas

Now for sale in our Houston showroom is this awesome red 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. The inspiration for this car came, as one might expect, from the nasty, blown 1957 Chevy from the movie Hollywood Knights. However, in this case, this is a true Bel Air (not a 210), its red (not yellow), its fuel-injected (not carbureted), and, and...well, its the spirit that counts - this 57 Bel Air is a much better car in every respect than the Hollywood Knights legend. The monster rat motor in this car started at Specialty Machine of Burlison, Tennessee, which bored the block 0.060 over, and turned it over to a master engine builder in Tennessee, who assembled it. An OE steel crank with Clevite bearings spins its stock rods (with 8.5:1 TRW pistons) in the mighty 468 CID mill. A custom grind COMP Cams bumpstick handles pushing the OE valvetrain in its stock heads, which combine to provide tons of power, yet still stay away from the ragged edge of streetability. The massive, polished GMC 6-71 blower, which was provided by Littlefield Blowers of Anaheim, sits atop a polished BDS intake manifold. A programmable BDS EFI system helps provide an excellent combination of power and fuel economy good enough to drive to all the car shows youll want to be present for. A huge aluminum radiator with twin electric fans helps keep the big powerplant running in the cool zone, and a built GM TH400 3-speed automatic transfers all that power out to a GM 10-bolt rear end with a limited slip differential. Doug Thorley headers scavenge the spent combustible mixture into a dual exhaust setup with two-chamber Flowmaster mufflers. Turndowns at the end of the mufflers ensure that theres plenty of noise out back. For just the right stance, the front was lowered 2.5 inches, and features tubular upper and lower control arms. Four-wheel disc brakes help bring this beast to a stop quickly when you need it. This street machine features a BFGoodrich G-Force Supersport radials at all four corners, wrapped around vintage-styled American Racing aluminum 5-spoke wheels, which are 15-inchers up front and 17-inch units in the rear. Every bit of the body the body was completely sanded and prepped properly before receiving the PPG Torch Red basecoat/clearcoat finish, and it shows. Attention to detail was paramount in the build on this car, from the embossed flames in the black-leather door panels, to the custom two-tone leather seating surfaces with their carbon-fiber look inserts. Lots of aluminum trim, including billet window cranks and door handles, and a billet aluminum steering wheel, add up to a look thats both retro and modern at the same time. Modern vintage style ana-digi gauges help finish the look, and keep the driver informed of critical operating functions. Another tasteful upgrade is the modern AM/FM/CD Radio head unit, and the custom speakers in the kick-panels and the rear deck: if you ever tire of the amazing blower whine, you can always turn on the tunes and listen to a different type of symphonic enjoyment. Additional features and options on this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air for sale include AM/FM/CD Radio, Aluminum Alloy Wheels, Leather Interior, Power Brakes, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, and Tilt Wheel.
