VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1970 Porsche 911 for sale in OFallon, Illinois

Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud and excited to offer this 1970 Porsche special construction build! This 1970 Porsche was commissioned as a race car early in its life and provided many years of service on the circuit. After years on the track, this 1970 Porsche was retired. 9 years ago, the current owner purchased the 1970 Porsche 911T. After a few years of ownership, he commissioned the build at the Custom Shop where they constructed a riveting work of art. Words and pictures simply cannot showcase the feeling this car provides from the gas pedal, to the supple feel of the world class interior shod in high quality brown leather. The vision behind the build is to have a street legal race car and the build delivers in every way and then some. This 1970 Porsche special construction achieves this vision in so many ways and realizes something beyond its original intention. Sema followers from 2015 may remember its presence in the Prospray paint booth. The build received a name as unique as every nut and bolt on the vehicle and is known as the Porsche 918 RSR/LS3. The 918 replaces 911 because under the rear decklid sits a polished and crackling 600 horsepower LS3 V8 engine. The engine is a 2015 LS3 powerplant with 376 cubic inch displacement, 600 horsepower, stacked injection by Domination Motorsports, LS3 Hedman headers, and Magnaflow exhaust. Fuel flow is managed by the Holley EFI computer. The display for the Holley EFI sits directly above the 7 Sony stereo system and provides a digital tachometer and other pertinent driver information. The fiery crackle from the exhaust is sure to raise the hairs on your back and bring a smile to anyones face. Power from the 600HP LS3 engine gets to the wheels through a 6-speed transaxle borrowed from a Porsche 966 that was specially rebuilt to handle the horsepower and torque from the LS3 engine. The clutch and fly wheel are also Porsche high performance and make for a firm, yet manageable left pedal. The exterior is shot with a custom mixture of Porsche red and then finished with a Candy pearl tri-coat. All courtesy of Prospray. There is not another 1970 Porsche custom construction like this. Throughout the exterior are painted logos and Porsche lettering. They are painted in a ghosted yet shiny bronze that flops and sparkles in the light. Look close and you will still miss some amazing detail. There is not another 1970 Porsche custom construction like this. The 1970 Porsche unibody chassis was heavily modified from its original state by the Custom Shop and they added an entire Rennline race suspension and Porsche 930 trailing arms. The car was also lowered by 3 inches and has coil overs on all four corners. The wheels are 19 Forgeline wheels that compliment the bronze ghosting throughout the painted exterior. All four tires are sticky Continentals and are 245/35/19 front and rear. The interior is beyond custom with high quality leather and stitching anywhere and everywhere your eyes can wander. The material is top notch quality brown leather and is only bested by the craftsman who put it together. There are 3-point harnesses with the Porsche logo raised on the buckle. Neatly massaged and tucked behind the seats are two Sony amplifiers that power an 8 subwoofer and 10 other speakers hidden throughout the cabin of the car. There are custom lighting effects throughout the interior that accentuate the work done in any condition. The only way to tell this is not JUST a generic luxury sports car is the roll cage in the cabin, and the exhaust note when you turn the key.
