In 1971 the Eldorado underwent many changes and upgrades. The overall length of the car grew 2 inches, but the wheel base grew 6 inches. Fender skirts returned and the rear quarter windows were removed. In their place were fixed opera styled windows that were intended to mask the widened C-pillar.
