Power comes from an exceptionally smooth 302 V8 and shifts through an automatic transmission. The Signature Series demanded a premium and was one of the most expensive cars built in America. The smaller Lincoln equipped with the fuel-injected 302, was Lincolns answer to the gas crisis. Lightweight with a smaller appetite was just what the doctor ordered. The outgoing heavy MK V was far heavier and equipped with a 460 or a 351 V8 making for a gas tank that you couldnt keep full.
