Used 1962 International Scout for sale in Memphis, Indiana
Our Louisville Showroom is proud to present this 1962 International Scout. The scout was the companys competitor to the now popular Jeep. The only issue was they had no idea if the market would be big enough to support 2 4WD leisure vehicles. Introduced to the public in 1960 and only taking 24 months to build from sketch drawing to finish. This was a monumental feat considering the size of IH as a company requiring them to piece out the job. IN other words, IH did not build the scout they put it together. This cool little scout has come a long way since it left the factory back in 62. Gone is the factory economical 4 cylinder upgraded to a 289 which is putting out about 3 times the power making this 2 door a blast to drive. The c4 automatic transmission works as it should shifting thru all 3 gears without hesitation. The paint on the car is clean and looks great. The white on red on white reminds me that this is an American car. Inside the bucket seats are much more modern and extremely comfortable. The shifter located in the middle on the floor is a great addition and makes it feels more like a car than a truck. Which is what the guy was going for when he put this creation together. Options on this 1962 International Scout includes, Hub Caps, Power Steering, Cloth Interior and Radial Tires.
