or sale at our Atlanta Gateway Classic Cars showroom is this 1977 Toyota FJ40. Toyota started production of the Land Cruiser FJ40 in 1960 and began importing them to the US in 1963. The last US-bound FJ-40 rolled off the line in 1983, but they made a brief comeback as a modern SUV in the US called the FJ Cruiser from 2006 to 2014. From 1963 to 1983 the FJ40 saw little change aesthetically, the only real changes were improvements in technology, and mechanically. The classic FJs are as comfortable on a trail as they are on the highway because they were designed to do anything you could ever ask it to do and do it well. This FJ40 has it’s beefy inline 4.2L 6-cyliner engine mated to the 4-speed manual transmission. This FJ40 would be considered a driver, as the silver paint appears to be in fair condition, looking good from 10 feet away. Inside youll find the black vinyl interior including 4 bucket seats, that appear to be in good condition. The fiberglass hardtop on this FJ40 is removable like a Jeep, although it does require a bit more work. Once the top is off though, it is totally worth it, as is has an awesome topless appearance.
