For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1969 Ford Mustang S Code Fastback. The S Code denoted a 390 Big Block and this one is equipped with a 4 speed Top Loader! The engine is original numbers matching however the transmission is not. They were both rebuilt and have covered a modest 3,000 miles since their rebuild as has the Ford 9 inch rear and rest of the restoration. The paint is truly gorgeous and is Nightmist Blue Metallic over a Black vinyl interior. Adding to the already breathtaking looks is a set of period correct American Racing Torque Thrust wheels with slightly larger rear tires for an aggressive stance. Equipment consist of an AM/FM radio, Power steering, Front disc brakes and 3.50:1 Posi Traction gears housed within a Ford 9 inch rear end. The engine rebuild included boring the cylinders .030 to clean them up, a slightly more aggressive camshaft installed for extra sound and power, a Pertronix Ignition system and a Be Cool aluminum radiator to keep all of the ponies at ideal temperatures. Prior to the restoration, the car was purchased from the original owner 8 years ago. The car was very solid and only required minimal body work which entailed 2 new rear quarter panels professionally installed. Sound deadening was used throughout, a new gas tank and all new chrome and trim. Theres no question this one was done right! Restoration photos are available on request.
