The Mustang sold for thousands less than their primary competitor the Camaro and delivered better performance year after year. The 1987 model year was special because the GT received a whopping 25-horsepower addition for a total of 225 horsepower to its power peak, new slicked-up aerodynamics, and a modernized instrument panel.
