Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando is proud to present this 1965 Pontiac GTO. This is a Pontiac enthusiast ground-up vision of what a modern, Pro-Touring GTO should have been. Reliable enough to be driven on a daily basis, right at home in a car show, or a beast on a track. With just 1,000 test miles on the build, this Goat is raring to go. Starting with a low-mileage, rust-free California car, the frame was inspected and modified to allow low mounting of A/C compressor and four-wheel coil-over suspension. The frame was then continuously seam welded, sandblasted, epoxy primed, and painted gloss black. Rustproofing was also sprayed inside of the frame. Power is provided by an LS1 with stage 2 heads, Comp cam, and Kooks stainless long tube headers all backed by a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission and 12 bolt positraction rear with 3:73 gears putting well over 400 horsepower to the wheels. Special care was taken to conceal wiring and hoses in the engine bay, the firewall was smoothed and painted gloss black, as were the inner fenders and radiator support. The front suspension includes power rack and pinion steering, tubular control arms, 2 dropped spindles Viking double adjustable coil-overs, and 1.25 stabilizer bar. Rear has double adjustable coil-overs, adjustable boxed control arms, 1 stabilizer bar, and Edelbrock chassis bracing. Brakes are Wilwood 4-wheel disk with drilled and slotted rotors. This GTO is equipped with a digital dash, tilt and locking steering column, Mark 4 A/C, power windows, power locks, keyless entry, and Trans-|Am power seats (upholstered in 65 patterns). The convertible top has a tempered glass rear window, and all mechanisms and hoses are new. Computers, relays, and batteries are mounted in the trunk behind an upholstered and embroidered panel. The exterior paint is Mercedes silver and really is show quality. All work was professionally performed, and all the modifications resulted in a great handling car with near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution that is powerful and extremely reliable. Drive it, autocross it, or show it; this car is comfortable in any setting. Additional info available upon request.
