VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle for sale in Kenosha, Wisconsin

Gateway Classic Cars of Milwaukee is excited to present this sharp 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle. This Blue beauty is a real “138” true SS car with a date correct “CE” 396 V8 engine and 4 speed manual transmission. During the restoration of this sharp SS the paint was completely redone to a two toned blue and black with a black vinyl top. It has had new black vinyl interior installed to keep the classic flow of the car. Although the whole car is black and blue inside and out, when you pop open the hood and see the big block you will notice that is was painted Hugger orange. This combination is one of the most sought-after combinations in the Chevelle world. This SS is powered by a monster 396 Turbo Jet engine with 375 HP and paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. Technically this car is numbers matching due to the warranty replaced CE block that was installed in the car while it was under the GM warranty. The paint, interior, drivetrain, and suspension have all been refurbished and ready to be shown or even enjoyed as a driver. Options include; Air conditioning optioned but not hooked up, AM/FM radio, power brakes and steering, vinyl top and interior, raised letter radial tires, Rally wheels, and even a Posi 12 bolt rear end. This car is perfect for a collection or to be driven and enjoyed. Government-mandated side marker lighting was incorporated, with early 1968 SS 396 light bezels seen with the SS 396 nomenclature - at some point in the later production cycle the engine callout had a 396 also shared with the Chevy II Nova SS (the side marker bezels, also sourced from the Chevy II Nova in 307, 327, and 396 displacements) had the engine displacement except for the six cylinder models). Black-accented Super Sports had F70x14 red-stripe tires and a standard 325-horsepower 396-cubic-inch Turbo-Jet V8 engine with the special twin-domed hood; 350 and 375-horsepower 396 engines were optional. This Chevelle has the most powerful option with its 375 HP 396 engine. The SS 396 sport coupe once started at $2,899 and continue to gain value as they get harder and harder to find.
