The LS6 engine has been replaced by a LS3 rated at 495-hp, along with a LS7 clutch kit, and with all kinds of upgrades. The 50th anniversary edition was offered during the 2003 model year to commemorate a half century of Corvette production. Introduced in 1997, the C5 generation Corvette was a radical styling departure from the angular C4s.
