Used 1974 Toyota FJ40 for sale in OFallon, Illinois
We are thrilled to offer for sale at our Saint Louis Gateway Classic Cars Showroom, this restored 1974 Toyota FJ40. BACKGROUND: Toyota started production of the Land Cruiser FJ40 in 1960 and began importing them to the US in 1963. The last US-bound FJ rolled off the line in 1983, making a brief comeback as a modern SUV in the US called the FJ Cruiser from 2006 to 2014. From 1963 to 1983 the FJ40 saw little change aesthetically, the only real changes were improvements in technology mechanically. The classic FJs are as comfortable on a trail as they are on the highway because they were designed to do anything you could ever ask it to do and do it well. This FJ40 had its 4.2-liter inline 6-cylinder engine rebuilt and a new starter put in it in 2018 and has had only 200 miles put on it since that time. The body paint is the original color. Inside youll find folding jump seats under a roll-bar and behind the passenger and driver seats. These folding seats not only made carrying another two passengers possible but also allowed for maximum cargo space, as opposed to the folding rear seat in the Jeep CJ series. The fiberglass hardtop on this FJ40 is removable like a Jeep, although it does require a bit more work. Once the top is off though, it is totally worth it, as is has an awesome topless appearance. If you are looking for an FJ40 that is ready to immediately enjoy on or off-road and that is priced to sell, youve found it.
