VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1963 Buick Riviera for sale in Ruskin, Florida

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa Is proud to offer this 1963 Buick Riviera. This car still has the numbers matching engine and transmission with only 78k miles! The Buick Riviera is a personal luxury car produced by Buick from 1963 to 1999. GMs first entry into that prestige niche, the Riviera was highly praised by automotive journalists upon its high-profile debut. While early models stayed close to the original form, eight subsequent generations varied substantially over the Rivieras thirty-year lifespan. In all, 1,127,261 were produced. This Buick was repainted about 2 years ago but kept the factory color. The Burgundy paint, chrome accent pieces, and glass is all still in great condition and looks as it has been redone. The style of this eras body style is top notch and has tons of potential to become whatever you can dream up or even keep it as it sits and enjoy the history. When you hop into this Buick you instantly notice the like new brown leather interior. The styling of the dash and shifter area brings out the luxury feel while cruising down the street in this sharp car. It shared the standard Buick V8 engines, with a displacement of either 401 cu in (6.57 L) or 425 cu in (6.96 l), and the unique continuously variable design twin turbine automatic transmission. Power brakes were standard, using Buicks massive Al-Fin (aluminum finned) drums of 12 in (300 mm) diameter. Power steering was standard equipment, with an overall steering ratio of 20.5:1, giving 3.5 turns lock-to-lock. The production Riviera was introduced on October 4, 1962, as a 1963 model, Its distinctive bodyshell was unique to the marque, unusual for a GM product. It rode a cruciform frame similar to the standard Buick frame, but shorter and narrower, with a 2.0 in narrower track. Its wheelbase of 117 in and overall length of 208 in were 6.0 inches and 7.7 in shorter, respectively, than a Buick LeSabre, but slightly longer than a contemporary Thunderbird. At 3,998 lb, it was about 390 pounds lighter than either. This First Generation Riviera has been well maintained and is ready to be taken out and shown off to the world.
