This prestigious classic that was hand-built by Lincoln is well optioned with after market A/C, power brakes and an AM radio, plus sensational styling and finishing touches throughout. This is one of the most impressive original examples we’ve come across in quite some time and this coupe is ready to enjoy right away.Same Family since 1960This 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II Coupe is one of 3,005 examples that were hand-built during a short two-year production run. At the time, it was the most expensive American production car ever made and was sought by high society and major celebrities at the time. For this particular example, the current owner inherited the Lincoln from his uncle back in 2008 who had purchased the car in 1960, and is thought to be only the second owner through the years. Additionally, this 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II appears to be mostly original with factory chrome and what the current owner believes is the original factory drivetrain. This desirable classic is in average driver condition with average levels of wear/tear to the exterior and paint, plus a pretty clean engine bay as well. The primarily original interior is exceptional with plush leather seating that was recently reupholstered by the current owner. Sensational door panels and a elaborately finished instrument cluster are dazzling, and re-affirm the quality and attention to detail Lincoln intended for these cars. Out on the open road, this 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II drives nicely with good performance and smooth shifting.
