VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1970 Ford Mustang for sale in Lake Mary, Florida

Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando is proud to present this all original 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302. The Camaro/Mustang rivalry had begun in 1967 with the introduction of the Chevrolet Camaro by General Motors. The Camaro was the largest threat to the lead Ford had in the pony car field, a market segment largely created by Ford with the introduction of the Mustang in mid-year 1964. The performance of the Mustang with 289 and 390 engines was not up to the Camaro, with its small block and big block V8. To improve the Mustangs image Ford made a 428 Cobra Jet V8 and a Ford Boss 302 engine optional for the 1968 mid-year and 1969 models, respectively. This 1970 Boss 302 is a numbers’ matching 302 CID V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission with Hurst Shifter and POSI rear with 3:91 gears. With just under 25,000 miles documented with no known wrecks or panel replacement, Options include: Boss 302 Engine, 4 Speed with factory Hurst Shifter, shaker assembly, front and rear spoilers, rear window slats, high back seats, AM radio, console, 15 Magnum wheels, Interior: Original seat covers, carpet, dash pad, door panels, original paint still in door jambs and trunk. Exterior: Excellent condition, repainted once (around 1974), all original sheet metal, straight nice body, paint still looks great, original floor panels which had rust-preventing under-coat that has recently been removed to show original primer with drips and factory seam sealer, Engine Compartment: Original engine rebuilt (around 1987). Engine sounds and runs strong like a Boss should! Correct: radiator, carburetor, distributor, shaker, intake, no missing or made-up non-original parts that need to be sourced. New exhaust installed (3/2018). Dyno Tuned (8/2008), ALL ORIGINAL PARTS including Smog Pump - Rebuilt, Water Pump - Rebuilt, Brake Booster - Rebuilt, Fan Shroud, Distributor, Rev-Limiter ( Not in Use), Radiator - Rebuilt, Timing Cover, Master Cylinder - Rebuilt, Starter - Rebuilt, Exhaust Manifolds, Distributor Vacuum, Rear Leaf Springs, History: (4) Owners to present, car has been shown locally, featured in Mustang monthly (August 1991), This is a rare opportunity to buy a well optioned Boss 302 with documented low miles, no wrecks, no rust, ready to show or drive that look as if it came right off the showroom floor.
