The first thing you note is the aggressive throttle tip-in--you get going in something of a lurch, although the sudden motion certainly does add to the sensation of speed, especially around town, and initially it feels like a lot more than the 190hp its been rated at. Whats surprising, nearly 30 years after the third-generation F-body launched, is that it doesnt feel particularly like an old car; the sorts of allowances you need to make when driving a more elderly machine simply dont exist. Here, you drop in and drive as you would any other car, and it becomes more enjoyable on its own simply because it puts you at ease--the style isnt contemporary, but it does feel enough like a new machine that it surprises.
