The eleventh generation had the same two-seat coupe/convertible layout as the first generation as well as some of the same characteristics as was on the 55-57 T-Birds. Because the Thunderbird shared the same DEW98 platform as the Lincoln LS and Jaguar S-Type, they shared interior styling particularly in the dash area, instrument panel, steering wheel and a Jaguar designed AJ-30 3.9L DOHC V8.
