Beneath the lightweight hood is a fully built 434 CI small-block V-8 using a JE stroker kit, 15.25:1 compression, RaceCrafters fuel injection on a chromed sheet steel fabricated intake, MSD ignition and Hooker Super Competition headers to crank out 730 horsepower. Chromed, polished and painted to the same jewel-like, show-winning standards as the rest of the car, it delivers its horses through a 5,000 RPM stall converter and custom-built 350 Turbo automatic to a shortened Dana 60 third member with 5.13:1 gearing. The 25x7.5 Hoosier Pro Street radials in front and 33x22.5 Hoosier Quick Time drag tires in the custom rear tubs are fitted to 15-inch Billet Specialties wheels all around, and Aerospace Components 4-wheel disc brakes with 4-piston calipers and drilled and slotted rotors are at the ready for quick, sure stopping. Inside this brilliant creation is a clean and inviting interior balancing quarter-mile safety features with open-road conveniences. Gray Ultraleather Pontiac Fiero bucket seats and heavy-duty M&R 3-point racing harnesses flank a custom transmission tunnel holding a chromed Hurst Quarter Stick shifter. The stock Camaro dash has been modified to accommodate a full set of Auto Meter Phantom gauges, in front of which is a Billet Specialties half-wrap steering wheel on a polished tilt column. Behind the passengers, flame-embossed fender tubs anchor a custom aluminum trunk around custom decklid hinges, a clean Ultraleather decklid pad, and a polished and flame-branded fuel cell. A 10-point tig-welded Chromalloy roll cage built to 8.5-second specifications protects the entire affair.
