This good looking 1968 Ford Mustang convertible is for sale in our Louisville Showroom. The 1967 model year Mustang was the first redesign of the original model. Fords designers began drawing up a larger version even as the original was achieving sales success, and while Iacocca later complained about the Mustangs growth, he did oversee the redesign for 1967. The major mechanical feature was to allow the installation of a big-block V8 engine. The overall size, interior and cargo space were increased. Exterior trim changes included concave taillights, side scoop (1967 model) and chrome (1968 model) side ornamentation, square rear-view mirrors, and usual yearly wheel and gas cap changes. This convertible comes with the venerable 289 CID V8 engine with a C4 3-speed automatic transmission. The car may have been repainted at some time, but the original color is Lime Gold (Code I) and the current owner has had the car for over 15 years. The exterior has been finished with a nice set of factory rally wheels. It gives this a convertible just a little bit sportier look. The interior is Ivy Gold vinyl (Code 2G) and looks to be in very good shape. The black convertible top is in good condition and with a little care will last for years to come.
