This Chevelle SS is the perfect way to “blow the doors off” of the competition at the track, and then casually cruise away laughing as they trailer their cars home. This “monster” is packing a balanced and blueprinted 396 with aluminum Edelbrock Heads, Roller Rockers, MSD Ignition, MSD Ultimate HEI Billet Distributor, 750 Double Pumper Demon Carburetor, Hooker Super Competition 2 1/8 Ceramic Coated Headers, and the crown on top is a Race Vortech Supercharger. This amounts to ground-pounding 719 horsepower and 700 foot pounds of torque. There is more to winning than cubic inches and horsepower. You need to be able to put the horsepower to the pavement and control it. You are able to achieve this with Hotchkiss Rear Suspension and new rear springs. All new front and rear polyurethane suspension bushings, transmission mount, motor-mounts, including front and rear sway bar bushings. Once you get going, stopping is the most important part. However, push this Super Sport to the limit and the front and rear Wilwood 4-piston caliper brakes will bring this wild Chevelle to a halt quickly. Some of the other components to this “Beastly” Chevelle are a TCI 700R4 transmission, which tames the vehicle to be easily driven on the highway. In addition to the TCI trans is a TCI torque converter with a 3400 to 3800 stall. A B&M four speed ratchet shifter insures crisp shifts and fast shifting. All the power is put to the ground by the way of a 12 bolt rear-end, housing an Auburn posi-traction with 3.73 gears. Options include AM/FM Cassette/CD Player, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Kill Switch, Radial Tires, Aluminum/Alloy Wheels, and Posi Traction. The package is wrapped up in a true “138” code Chevelle which makes this a “Real” Super Sport. Add in the fact that this is a paint code black car and the value on this “Muscle Car” keeps rising.
