They took the already good C6 Corvette and cranked it up to 11 so that it could compete with supercars 3 times its price. The transformation begins with the incredible LS9 engine under the hood. This engine makes the ZR1 the first factory supercharged Corvette and also the most powerful at the time of its introduction. Six Hundred and Thirty Eight horsepower; yes, 638 horsepower is the output on this bad boy. Couple this kind of power with a car that weighs less than 3,400 pounds and clearly were talking about a performance beast. This particular example is a stunning black on black car with only 12,007 miles on the odometer. The black looks great contrasting with the exposed carbon fiber on the roof, side skirts, and front splitter. The light weight and high horsepower is incredible, but so is the handling. The car sits on massive ZR1 specific wheels with incredible tires including 335mm wide rears. The brakes are massive carbon ceramic discs with Brembo calipers. Some of the same braking technology is used on the Ferrari Enzo; examples of which are currently on the market in the multi-million dollar range.
