Now available in our Philadelphia location is a 2002 Ford Mustang GT Saleen S281. This car finished in White with Charcoal interior is like new with only 2,055 original miles. In 2002 Ford had not started selling supercharged Mustangs. The only way to get a Mustang with this kind of power was to look to an aftermarket up fitter. The Supercharged version of the S-281 was first introduced as an option for the New Edge Mustang in 1999 with a horsepower rating of 350 (261 kW). Designated as Saleen 281 CID Supercharged, this designation was widely recognized as a separate model in 2000 with more options becoming available by Saleen. Notable internal differences of an S-281SC introduced a dual gauge instrument cluster above the dashboard, while the only external difference was a Saleen Heat Extractor hood. Unlike most of our cars the best thing I can tell you about this Mustang is that it has not been modified. The only thing that has been changed on this car are the pulleys and the oil. The pulleys have been upgraded with a set of Saleen Underdrive pieces. The S281 Supercharged addition was quickly accepted by Saleen customers as the benchmark in performance Mustangs. Manufactured with a Saleen Series II Supercharger system and “PowerFlash” performance calibration system.
