For sale now in our Houston showroom is this very rare 1989 Chevrolet Corvette Callaway Twin Turbo. In 1987, the factory B2K option appeared at Chevy dealers. The options price was almost equal to the base price of the Corvette. The Callaway Corvette was a Regular Production Option (RPO) B2K, the only time in Chevrolets history a specialist manufacturer was entrusted with a technically advanced high performance RPO. The B2K option was critical in bringing a select few Corvettes to a higher performance level. Although often compared with Chevrolets ZR-1 option, they were simply two different approaches to solving the issue of bringing a higher performance Corvette to market. The early B2Ks produced 382 hp and 586 lb·ft of torque. The later B2Ks produced 450 hp and 613 lb·ft of torque. Amazingly, there is also derivative of the Twin Turbo Corvette, the 880 hp Callaway SledgeHammer. With a recorded a speed of 254.76 mph on Ohios Transportation Research Center track making it the fastest road-going car at the time. This car, with build plaque number 030 has 43390 original & actual miles on it. It has been garage kept most of its life and all components on the car are in excellent condition. The 5.7 350 CID V8 under the hood is very clean, healthy, & runs extremely smooth. The turbocharged V8 is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission that goes into each gear with ease. This is a very low mileage car that shows very well for being almost 30 years old. There were only about 450 cars of these cars that were produced, and even less that are still on the road and even less that have this low mileage. This one is shown in its original white paint job that is in very nice condition. The fiberglass body is in superb shape and is free from any major scratches or dings. The exterior trim, light lenses, & glass on the car are all in great shape. The car sits on its factory wheels that are in good shape (a couple have a little, but repairable curb rash) & they are wrapped in Firehawk tires that have plenty of tread left on them. The reveal the 4-wheel disc brakes to bring all 382HP to a stop. Stepping into the driver’s seat you will find the eye-catching fire red leather interior that looks awesome contrasting to the white exterior. The leather seats are in good condition with minor aging to them. The carpet, door panels, headliner, & dash are in fantastic condition. Sitting behind the wheel in this car feels like sitting in a jet fighter cockpit with all of gauges & switches. The car has cold blowing AC and the interior electronics are in good working order as they should be.
