VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1964 Chevrolet El Camino for sale in DFW Airport, Texas

For sale in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom is one of the most recognizable American vehicles ever to hit the road, the Chevrolet El Camino, with this one being the 1964 model. The ’64 Model year was significant, as it represented the rebirth of the El Camino. The first generation El Camino had a short two year life span, being discontinued in 1960. While the 1st gen was based on the full size Chevy of the time, the 1964 El Camino was based on the midsized Chevelle/Malibu, and were available with an array of 6 and 8 cylinder engines. While not the numbers matching engine, this has what would have been the range topper, the 300hp 327 CID V8. The 327 in this Elco has been through some thorough massaging, including being bored .030 over, 10.5:1 compression pistons, line honed block, balanced crank, surfaced the head and block, new rod bearings, main bearings, and main bolts, 1.5 ratio rockers, and a Comp Cams XE268H-10 camshaft. That cam provides .477 intake lift, and .480 lift on the exhaust, with 224/230 duration at .050. Other engine bay upgrades include an Edelbrock water pump, Sills radiator, and Edlebrock intake and 600 performer carburetor. Backing that up is a TH350 3 speed auto with a shift kit. The trans was recalibrated and has all new seals, as well as a 2500 Stallmaster torque converter. The rear end is Chevrolet 10-bolt with 3.08 gears. Other options for this 1964 El Camino include an AM/FM radio, power brakes, power steering, vinyl interior, and radial tires wrapped around Rally wheels.
