The Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1961 Corvette for sale. This 61 corvettes 2nd owner has been the major focus of the owner for many years. This icon of a car has had a full body off restoration and is in good driving condition. The mountain road is calling for you in the wind to take this red corvette around the corners and let life show you how good things can be behind the wheel. The Roman Red body with White coves is the last contrasting cove design and last wide white walls for the corvette. There are also a couple of final hurrahs, the last 2X4 carburetors and last of the 283ci V-8. This Corvette has a rare power top, yes power top. It brings a tear to the eye for both a memorable time and joy it still exist in this great vehicle. The suspension and braking system was completed in the restoration along with the full engine focused on performance. This car was a barn find and in storage for approximately twenty years taped and covered with a tarp until found. The process started with stripping of everything attached bolted or screwed to the main body including chrome bumpers, grill pieces, headlight assemblies, door handles, stainless strips, badges, and emblems. The chrome and stainless pieces were sent to a refinishing shop, the doors, hood, and trunk lid were removed for the job. The frame front and rear suspension components were completely redone with upper and lower, inner and outer full shaft kits with new bushings, front and rear sway bar bushings, and the fresh detailed rear end and solid axle has a proper new axle straps installed, the tubular lower traction bars were stripped, primed and powder coated as well as the frame. The steel wheels wither stripped and primed as well and painted proper red to match factory codes. The engine was rebuilt with hardened valve seats installed in the heads to allow the use of unleaded fuel, date code correct plus, and matching number 2x4 carburetor. All new wiring, interior, correct exhaust system, refreshed hard top, and many more. We have pictures of the restoration for the serious buyer.
