Up for sale in the Tampa showroom is one of the rarest cream puffs you will come across the 1939 Lincoln Zephyr. The Lincoln-Zephyr is a marquee that was used for the higher priced line of luxury cars in the Lincoln line from 1936 until 1940. Introduced in 1939 Lincoln bridged the wide gap between Fords V-8 De-Luxe line and the exclusive Lincoln K-series cars and came out with a swept line look that replicated nothing out there but the most elegant of creations. We get pretty harsh on Lincoln these days because of their laughable ad campaigns and insipid product range of late. But in the 1930s they were remarkably good and the 1939 Zephyr represents just how good things got. The three-window Zephyr coupe as its known was the brainchild of Edsel Ford and his assignment put down by his father to give the Lincoln brand some life and boy was that accomplished! It is sleek when cars of the same era have huge upright b-pillars and it has a reasonably advanced and compact V12 engine that runs like a sewing machine. This particular Lincoln actually sat in the Lincoln museum for 22 years before being bought and restored. This Zephyr for sale has had the full treatment. Anything that you can see touch or hear has been refurbished restored or replaced. The car is a full numbers matching car that drives great. The steering and brakes and super nice and tight and allows for smooth easy cruises to the local car show or on a nice long road trip. With only 800 of these specific Zephyrs made and only around 30 left in existence this is the crème of the crop ladies and gentlemen. Get it before Jay Leno does!
