Used 2002 Chevrolet Camaro for sale in Crete, Illinois
For sale in our Chicago showroom is this very rare 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. While production for 2002 was 42,098 total Camaros built, this example is believed to be a one of one. While COPO cars have certain exclusivity about them, this example is a double-COPO car making it even more exclusive. The vehicle was custom ordered from a dealership and immediately shipped to SLP and had a full performance package installed. During this time, the owner met Matt Murphy of GMMG and arranged to have the vehicle receive the second COPO package before taking delivery. The Camaro was originally given an LS1 rated at 325 horsepower, but through SLP and GMMG has been upgraded to 380 rated horsepower, but most reports claim this to be conservative. This is believed to be the only 380 horsepower model with the 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission. Starting from an already impressive base car, many upgrades were done to the entire car. A self-arming kill-switch was installed to reduce the risk of having this beauty stolen, an SLP serialized plaque and a GMMG serialized plaque were added to prove its authenticity, and several signatures have been placed on the vehicles inner fender. Power was increased via a number of modifications including 3.73 rear gear ratio on an Auburn limited-slip differential, under drive pulleys on the engine, a custom exhaust, Bilstien performance springs, shocks, and bushings, and a custom computer tune to make all the added equipment work together without issue. Being a one of one certainly makes this one rare-oh Camaro!
