VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1981 Lincoln Mark VI Signature for sale in Coral Springs, Florida

For sale in our Ft. Lauderdale showroom is an original Canadian 1981 Lincoln Mark VI. A redesigned model year (1980-1983) which changed to the Panther platform. This significantly reduced the exterior size of the vehicle making it 14 in (356 mm) shorter and rode on a wheelbase 6 in (152 mm) shorter than before. It was also 500 kilograms (1102 lb) lighter. Aside from being the first Mark series available as a 4-door or 2-door sedan in 20 years. The Mark VI retained most of the styling cues of the 1977 Mark V. This model retained the hallmark opera windows Rolls-Royce style grille and its characteristic vestigial spare-tire hump on the deck lid. The Mark VI had more ornate styling than the Town Car befitting its place on top of the model line. It sported vacuum-operated concealed headlamps with an unusual optional feature called touring lights. They were installed externally on the concealed headlamp doors which gave an appearance of being headlights when the actual headlights were behind the doors. The touring lights will only turn on if the headlight switch is in the parking light position. They gave a soft glow but didnt provide enough light to drive in dark conditions. They are just for show. The exterior is painted in the Dark Lime Poly (Green) with a (White) vinyl padded top and chrome lower rocker panels. The interior is matching with green cloth and wood grain trim panels. The Mark VI also was one of the first cars seen with several features commonly seen today; it came with the all-new Keyless Entry System digital instrumentation (VFD) and a trip computer.
