For sale in our Chicago showroom is this thoroughly restored 1969 Plymouth Road Runner. The Road Runner name was introduced in 1968 as a trim level for the Plymouth Belvedere. The model was shoehorned between the highest trim GTX and the Satellite and was a huge success. The Road Runner sold double its expected numbers in the first year. This Road Runner like most produced at the time was fitted with a 383 engine and the optional 3-speed automatic transmission which is still in the vehicle today. This Road Runner has had a very thorough restoration leaving no bolt left unturned. The Aspen Green paint shimmers ever so slightly and the black interior seems to swallow sunlight. The windows are all crystal clear and the soft rumble from the tail pipes let you know this bird means business. Having been previously judged a score of 983/1000 this is a very high-quality example of one of the first muscle cars. Popping the hood shows the orange painted and numbers matching 383 V8 engine as well as the signature â??beep-beepâ? horn which cost the Chrysler Corporation $10000 to develop.Sporting a big engine sticky tires and show-winning quality this 1969 Plymouth Road Runner is sure to put a smile on your face every time you turn the key.
